The Shakers start the 08/09 campaign at home to Brentford

After that the first away game sees a return to Saltergate for Bury manager Alan Knill where he was assistant manager last year before taking ove the shakers.

The season ends again with accrington Stanley, this time stanley making the trip to Gigg Lane to see the season out.

Bury make the trip down the road to Spotland on 30th august to face rivals Rochdale and on boxing day Darlington come to Gigg Lane.
