The Pitch has come under much criticism in recent weeks and the board have issued the following statement regarding the issue.

"Following the deterioration of the pitch in recent weeks, the directors have asked for advice from EcoSoil, the company that 'drilled and filled' the pitch.
Following a visit today by specialist from EcoSoil and after various tests were undertaken on the pitch, it has been discovered that the biggest problem is compacted soil some 8 to 10 inches below the surface. The drainage system has been wrapped in a Hessian type material that is normally used for making sacks and will not allow water to penetrate and hence drain away
The compacted soil underneath the surface, coupled with the heavy rain and frost we have had in recent weeks, along with the Hessian covered drains, have led to the bad state of the surface with the pitch being unable to drain.
Immediate remedial work is being carried out with the purchase of longer 'probes' for the clubs rotary slitter to break apart the compacted soil. The probes are at least 12 inches long and should break apart the compactation.
Further work will be done on the pitch come the close season"
Lets hope the pitch will be sorted and there will be no more postponed games.
